Get to know me.

I am excited about being the Children’s Minister at GCC. Ministry to children has been a life-long passion for me. Since my youth, I have been drawn to showing children the love and acceptance of Jesus. I believe it is important to let our children know that they are unique and special in the eyes of God and that He created them to love Him and be loved by Him. In Christ, we can walk through life knowing that He will be by our side in all situations.

Favorite Thing About GCC:
Since coming to GCC our family has been drawn in by the love and concern shown to us by the church family.  The family at GCC has reached out to us and welcomed us in and have loved on us, as I believe the first church in Acts shows us we should do.

My Family:
My husband, Steve, and I have been married for 33 years.  We have lived in Missouri, Illinois, and now Iowa.  Until we moved to Iowa 17 years ago Steve was in the preaching ministry.  In the churches he served, I had the pleasure of working in children’s ministries.  Moving to Iowa brought Steve a new ministry of working in the prison system.  I then served in our church with the children.  Steve and I have 11 children.  They range in age greatly!  Five of our children are adults and we have six that live at home.  Our kids that live at home range in age from 18 to 7.  Most of the years of our marriage I have had the pleasure of being a stay-at-home mom.  At this season of life, I am excited about working outside of our home part-time and walking along side the families at GCC.

My Hobbies:
My hobbies are my children. My family and I love to be outside.  We love to go camping, take nature hikes, simply to be outside to enjoy God’s creation.

Favorite Part of Ministry:
Ministry to children has been my life-long passion.

Life Verse:
I often sing Micah 6:8 to my children.  I find it a great life verse.  “He has shown you, O child (man) what is good. And what does the Lord require of you?  But to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
